My Christmas

I hope everyone had a Happy Christmas. Christmas is all about traditions, in my house you always got one present Christmas Eve and of course Christmas Eve pyjamas.

This year I went for the grinch pyjamas and I just love my Christmas Eve box

It alway has things for a relaxing Christmas Eve, face mask, nail polish, shower gel, grinch sock and my favourite jelly’s.

Christmas Day, I have to say I was spoiled rotten this year, with all my favourites.

On Christmas Day, I wore my Warehouse sale outfit. That just arrived on Christmas Eve and I love a co-ordinate.

On Christmas night, I always have new pyjama. I’m a little bit obsessed, with pyjamas.

St Stephen’s day, is always a fun day. It’s is nearly like a second Christmas Day, as we alway have another big turkey dinner.

I wore a suit, I picked up in Penney’s/Primark, a few months ago. This suit had to be taken up the joys of been 5’1. I also picked up a white knit jumper also from Penney’s/primark.

I did pick up a few bits in the sales and I cannot wait to show you, it’s abit annoying as it all has to be taken up first.

Happy shopping

Lots of love

My Week

My week has turned into my last two weeks as always I seem to get a little lazy.
The first week was all about food, all I seemed to be doing was eating.

Monday I met with a friend for lunch. We went to the church bar I had the pulled beef brisket sandwich with fries, it as nice but messy.

img_97101

Than that evening I decided to call into off beat donuts on Georges Quay  and got two donuts, carmel toffee ring and a white coffee donut. They wore both nice but I did prefer the coffee one more.

img_97121

This weeks nails wore No 7 gel finish, I got this in the No7 set I got for Christmas. I am very impressed with this nail polish it didn’t chip and had a nice finish.

img_97071

The 52 book challanage is still going strong last week was book 4 of 52. Finally a book I really enjoyed, The Associate by John Grisham again I picked this up in a charity shop for €3. The main charcater is Kyle McAvoy he is legal student one of the top legal student’s in the country and is blackmailed into taken a job most law students would dream of doing except this was not Kyle’s dream. I didn’t want to like Kyle at the start but he was one of the good guy’s, Also the ending I just wanted more, I wanted to know what happened with his life.

img_97661

On Sunday I cooked first ever roast dinner, and it was nice and I managed not to burn the house down.

The secound week, I didn’t really get up to much mid week, but my new skin care products arrived from The Ordinary.
I am going to do a quick post hopefully this week and than a real review in about months time to let you know how I am getting on.

img_98131

Saturday was all about hair and make-up as I was heading out. I wore my new dress from Penneys, which was abit to low cut for my liking, I felt it was a little to much so next time I will be putting a black cami top under it.

img_98221

img_98531
The night didn’t go very well as I got very ill it was’t the drink, as I didn’t even get to finish my first drink and had to leave but I did feel fab before I was ill.

Paris Day One

A few months ago I managed to get tickets to Paris for €20 return, flying out on a Monday and returning on a Thursday, flying from Dublin to Beavais, which is about 80 minutes from Paris.

The flights wore the only thing I managed to get cheap, I decided I wanted to stay in a nice hotel so I spoke to a friend who regularly goes to Paris and he suggested Terrass Hotel in Montmartre.
I would like to say I was organised for this trip but I really wasn’t, in the airport I finally picked up a book about Paris to read on the plane. I did book a few things beforehand but I was unorganised mess.

img_67081

img_67151

Our flight to Paris was at 6am which meant we had to be in the airport at 4am so of course I got a little bit excited the day before and got about an hours sleep. The flight itself was quick and I didn’t manage to get any sleep.

img_67191

As I said I was a little organised and decided to book a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel, this is a shared service your driver is waiting for you in arrivals with a sign but you than have to wait for other passengers, the limit is 8 people and the service drops you to the door of your hotel.
We wore left waiting about an hour which was a little annoying and it was also very cold, I was so glad I packed a warm coat but we wore dropped off first.
The shuttle service cost us a total of €141 for two people return with Super Shuttle

From the outside the Terras Hotel didn’t look great but as soon as you walk into the hotel you notice all the small touches and our greeted warmly by all the staff. Our check in was fast and our room was also ready, we wore also given a map on the city which was our lifeline for our stay.

We headed straight up to our room which I’m not gonna lie was a little disapointing it was on the small side but as I have been told most Paris hotel rooms are.
The reason we booked this hotel was because of the view but again it was disapointing our view was of a wall. I know this all sounds very bad and on my first day I was exhausted so all I could see was the negatives.

We left are bags in and headed straight out, we dedcided we would go straight to The Lourve and went to reception with are map and asked the best way to get there, we wore told to get the 95 bus and get of at The Lourve stop and it would cost €2 per person and the bus stop was across the street.
Anyone who knows me well knows I get lost very easy so managing to get to The Lourve with out getting lost is shocking.

When we arrived it was about 1’o clock and we needed food badly, I didnt take any pictures as it wasn’t great as soon as we wore finished we headed into the The Lourve there is two enty points we decdied to use the Pyramid entrances which there is always a que but it was quick so if you want to miss the que enter the shopping mall entrance.

img_67241

Now security is tight but you expect it to be someone looks in your bag and than you go through a metal dector, we didn’t buy tickets before hand so we had to que to get tickets which was very quick and priced at €15 per person, we did get mixed up and ended up back in the shopping centre which I didn’t know was part of the Lourve, as i said my reseach on Paris was hardly anything at all so we had to go through security again.

We finally managed to get into the Lourve which is so big. I did know this beforehand, I am not that bad. I should of planned what I wanted to see before hand I think that is your best bet but of course we didn’t.
We went in a little blind to where we wore going, we just knew we wanted to see The Mona Lisa.

I’d say it took us about four hours to find her, but The Lourve is amazing place and I do wish I wasn’t so exhausted that day. I don’t think you could possible take in everything in one day apart from four hours.

img_67831

img_67871

img_68131

img_68231

We finally found the Mona Lisa, again i knew this painting would be small but because there is so many people around her you can’t really take it in. Its also very uncomfortable in this section as people are pushing to get to the front.

img_68281

As you guessed I wasn’t a fan of the Mona Lisa to me there is so much more to see of The Lourve than just this painting.

As soon as we wore finished seeing the lady herself we decided to get out before we dropped and headed for the exit now we found are away out of the museum with no issue and headed into the shopping centre and grabbed a quick coffee.
This is where the fun began we couldn’t find an exit so I learned the most importmant word to know when in Paris is Sortie which is exit.

Again the public transport was no issue we hopped on to the 95 bus and headed back to the hotel where we ended up in bed at 9 we wore so exhausted.

Life update

I’ve become so lazy with my blog lately, as I am loving instagram and the stories. I never got into snapchat but I still do use it, I think because I seem to have a lot of men following me on their. Which is strange and I get a lot of message from them informing me I shop way to much lol.

So gonna also use my life update as my bits and bobs shopping that I haven’t shown you yet, this weeks bit and bobs, is PJ’s and Slippers. I picked up a few weeks ago from you guessed it Penneys/Primark. I’m just loving the rabbit ear slipper, I even picked up a secound pair.img_5968-1

I have been living in the bath latly after I paid a visit to lush, I just love bath bombs and they are so relaxing.

The first one I used was you’ve been mangoed bath oil, I have never used a bath oil from Lush before, first thing you notice is it is very small compared to the bath bombs and it smells amazing very citrus which maked me think of holidays. Now their is no bubbles with this one but the smell makes up for it, also left my skin feeling very soft only thing is it left the bath with a green making where the water was, I kinda thaught I was that dirty turned out it wasn’t me lol.

img_6208

Up next was Karma Bubble bar, I love bubbles so this was perfect again its citrus smell which I love and the glitter which I like. The day I used this Karma, I was wrecked and had the bath just before bed to help me relax and it worked a treat.

Next up is Sakura bath bomb  which is disapointing the smell isn’t that strong and didn’t change the bath water that much just to a pinkish colour so was very disapointed.

So last week in Ireland and again this week is a bus strike on Thursday and Friday, so I have been on the 6.15am train in the morning that explains my tiredness. On Friday I ended up going to work with no make up on, don’t worry it was still dark out and I done my make up when I arrived in so because I was so early I had loads of time to do it and take my time.

I’m loving No7 lipstick I’m going to do a proper review on it.

img_6358

Also I finally wore my new shirt from Penney/Primark and sleevless Camel jacket from River Island which I love and is perfect in this weather.

img_6361

On Sunday I headed out to Howth for a walk.

I ended up in the market, hich is held every weekend in Howth where I picked up these amaing mini cupcakes which are €1.70 each they wore yum

Hope everyone had a great week

Afternoon Tea in The Westin

On Saturday I went for afternoon tea, in The Westin in Dublin, I had really been looking forward to this as I heard it was amazing, and I really wasn’t disapointed.

Afternoon tea is served in The Atrium Lounge which is so pretty and such a relaxing hide away in the centre of Dublin.

31178542

There are two afternoon teas to choose from the Normal Afternoon tea priced at €32 or A Most Peculair Afternoon tea prcied at €34,  which comes with a cocktail in a teapot. I decided to go for the normal afternoon tea.

IMG_6138[1]

The normal afternoon tea arrived out and it looked amazing this is between two people.

IMG_6103[1]

The bottom layer of course was sandwiches we asked for no fish, which was no issue at all and the sandwiches wore lovely roast beef with tomato and Horseradish , Cucumber with dill cream cheese and egg and rocket cress.

IMG_6106[1]

Next layer was a mini scone which of course came with cream and jam and also a Carrot Cake.

IMG_6105[1]

Now for the mini cakes which wore all yum

IMG_6104[1]

I’ve gone to a few hotels in Dublin for Afternoon tea,  the Westin was by far the best, the food was amazing,  the staff wore all so friendly.  What I loved most was no one was sitting on top of each other.

When afternoon tea was over, we went down stairs to the Mint bar to have a cocktail, these are expensive, mine was €12.50 but it was a big cocktail and it was delish.

My Week

I should really change this to my two weeks, the first week I really didn’t get up to much just took it easy as work has been very busy.

Last week my new hair products arrived from Deva Curl so I am trying the curly method so far so good, I am no longer using Shampoo or brushing my hair using my hands in the shower to get any knots out.
Will do a full review in a few weeks.

IMG_5437[1]

On Friday I was invited to Dublin Castle to hear the Vice President of America Joe Biden give a speech, sadly it did rain but the sun was shining when he spoke, it was an amazing up lifting speech in an amazing setting.

The Boat Restaurant and Bar

Few weeks ago I went for a meal on MV Cill Airne its restaurant and bar on a boat that doesn’t sail. It’s based on famous river liffey on the north side.  I have been a few times to this restaurant and really love and it’s something a little different staff are all very friendly and food is good.

slide1

We decided to eat in the restaurant as also do bar food and we went for the Pre Theatre Menu which is a choice of two course meal for €23 or three course for €27. I decided to go for the two course meal.

For main I went for the Steak now there is a €6 Supplement but it was worth it, it was served with mash potatoes, mushrooms and pepper sauce. The Steak was cooked to perfection and Mash was lovely.

IMG_3304[1]

For dessert I went for the Tart which was only ok but the other desserts wore lovely I did bully my brother into swapping his cheese cake for mine and it was amazing.

What I love about this restaurant is the size its very intimate but at the same time you’re not on top of each other.

If your in Dublin and are looking for somewhere to eat try MV Cill Airne

Things to do in Dublin: Day in the Zoo

I love Dublin zoo and it really is great day out for young and old it’s located and it is so easy to get to hop on the luas and get off at Hueston and it’s about a 15 min walk and you also get to walk through Phoenix Park which is a nice park and it’s also perfect for a picnic and watch out for the deer.

IMG_0519 IMG_0517

Tickets for adults are €16.80 and children over there are €12 under three go free click here to buy you can also pay at the gate which is what we did and we also brought a picnic with us but there are loads of places to eat or grab a drink or an ice cream which I have to say are so nice.

Now the important part the animals, now your gonna laugh my favourite place is the farm area as there was baby pigs they wore only a 1 day old and very cute, I know I should of went to a farm instead.

IMG_0438 IMG_0440

My friend loved the Flamingos and they have a nice enclosure not going to lie some of the animals Tigers and Lions could do with more space but it’s not depressing zoo if anyone has been to Berlin zoo where I cried it was that sad you won’t walk out feeling sad so don’t worry but make sure you wear comfy shoes there is a lot of walking but you don’t feel it.

FK Buckley Temple Bar and Vintage Cocktail Club

On Thursday night i went out for dinner for my friends 30th Birthday I decided to book FX Buckley in Temple Bar as I heard they do the best steak in Dublin.

image

We went for the early bird menu which is two course’s for €19.95 or three course for €23.95 we both went for the ceaser salad to start which I have to say was nice it wasn’t the nicest ceaser salad I ever had but it was nice and a good size portion. Up next we both went for the same thing again Steak we went for rump steak now if you are ordering of the main menu they come out with a platter of beef and you can pick what steak you want to eat.

image

I have to say the steak was perfect it tasted amazing I went for a mash side which was also very tasty we also had a glass of wine each and a coffee and it came to €61.

One thing I notice alot when eatting out in Dublin and it really anoys me if one of the guest is away from the table and the food is ready, this happend with the ceaser salad they still bring the food to the table to me they should wait till everyone is at the table before sevring also if you like meal to last a while between courses do not go here everything is very quick a bit to quick for my liking  it would of been nice to have a few more mintues between starter and dinner but haven’t said that I would go back for the steak.

click here to book FX Buckley

After dinner we went around the corner to Vintage Cocktail Bar you have to book Vintage Cocktail Bar before you go, as it is a secret cocktail club from the outside you really would never know the door only has VCC on it and is locked so you have to ring the bell as we booked very late the only tables left wore for the terrace which I was happy with as it was a lovely evening . It is a vintage cocktail bar so it is very vintage feel inside which i loved we wore shown to our table and handed a book of cocktails which was so hard to choose from .

image

For my First Cocktail I decided to go for the Daily mule, The receipe changes daily depending on the mood of the bar tender but it Usually contains Absolut 100 Premium Vodka, fresh citrus, fruit liqueur, ginger beer or soda, with fresh fruit and a fresh mint sprig and it was delish my friend went for Tiki Peekey which contains  Absolut Grapefruit Vodka, VCC Pomegranate Tincture, cranberry and pineapple, fresh citrus, VCC 3 Sugar Syrup, soda top, with a fresh mint sprig and fresh pomegranate which of course I had a little sip of and it was nice.

For are secound cocktail  I went for Shut ver mouth Plymouth Gin, VCC Sweet Vermouth, Green Chartreuse, with lemon oils I wasnt a lover of this one it was abit to strong for my taste buds so I ended up swapping with my friend not sure what she ordered.

For the third cocktail I was very boring and ordered the Daily mule again  I know but it was so nice and my friend went for a different cocktail which tasted like choclote again not something I would be a fan off.

imageclick here to book

Most people wore only staying for one drink as it is very expensice 6 drinks cost us €71 but it was 30th Birthday treat but I have to say I loved it and it really finished off our night so if you are looking for something a bit different to do in Dublin, Vintage Cocktail Club is perfect night.

Lots of Love
