Afternoon tea at clontarf castle

Last week I met the girls for afternoon tea in clontarf castle.

The afternoon tea is held in the reception area, now  you don’t feel like you are on top of each other but you it very busy with people checking in and out thich in the winter you would be very cold with that door opening.

Our waitress went though each tea with us and explained there afternoon tea is a little different. It comes in two sections the bakery and than the cake shop. I was a little boring and stuck with coffee.

The bakery came first with a selection of Sandwiches, now these wore not normal sandwiches each one was not just different but on different breads. My favourite was the the sirloin grilled and served on ciabatta with sticky onion jam.

It’s hard to believe after that you have any room left but when you see the cake shop you just about manage to find a second wind.

Again it was all very tasty the scones were perfect but my favourite was the shortbread with cream and strawberries.

Our waitress, was so friendly and checked if we had enough tea and coffee. We also all left with a little doggy bag for later. I have to say this is a perfect for a girls day out or even a romantic treat with your other half.

Afternoon tea is priced at €36.95 Click here for more details.

My Month

Can’t belive it’s August already another month gone.

July has been a fun month loads of food way too much and shopping of course.

I’ve also started baking again, its been going well but not helping with my diet at all that starts on Monday and last’s about an hour.

I’m also loving everything disney at the moment in Penney’s, I am way to old for it still can’t stop buying pyjamas and of course the famous chip cup.

Last month has also been all about Love Island. My friend and I watched the final together and had a little party with way to much food and of course matching t-shirts.

As always I want a little OTT on stationery, a new Dealz opened in Clarehall so I couldn’t say no and priced at €1.50 each it would be rude not too.

Last but no least I got my hat for Ladies day at the Horse Show next week in the RDS and my dress can’t wait to show you all.

Happy August

My Week

My week has turned into my last two weeks as always I seem to get a little lazy.
The first week was all about food, all I seemed to be doing was eating.

Monday I met with a friend for lunch. We went to the church bar I had the pulled beef brisket sandwich with fries, it as nice but messy.

Than that evening I decided to call into off beat donuts on Georges Quay  and got two donuts, carmel toffee ring and a white coffee donut. They wore both nice but I did prefer the coffee one more.

This weeks nails wore No 7 gel finish, I got this in the No7 set I got for Christmas. I am very impressed with this nail polish it didn’t chip and had a nice finish.

The 52 book challanage is still going strong last week was book 4 of 52. Finally a book I really enjoyed, The Associate by John Grisham again I picked this up in a charity shop for €3. The main charcater is Kyle McAvoy he is legal student one of the top legal student’s in the country and is blackmailed into taken a job most law students would dream of doing except this was not Kyle’s dream. I didn’t want to like Kyle at the start but he was one of the good guy’s, Also the ending I just wanted more, I wanted to know what happened with his life.

On Sunday I cooked first ever roast dinner, and it was nice and I managed not to burn the house down.

The secound week, I didn’t really get up to much mid week, but my new skin care products arrived from The Ordinary.
I am going to do a quick post hopefully this week and than a real review in about months time to let you know how I am getting on.

Saturday was all about hair and make-up as I was heading out. I wore my new dress from Penneys, which was abit to low cut for my liking, I felt it was a little to much so next time I will be putting a black cami top under it.

The night didn’t go very well as I got very ill it was’t the drink, as I didn’t even get to finish my first drink and had to leave but I did feel fab before I was ill.

Cassmadabout life

I decided to change the name instead of my normal old week update lol.

Last Friday I went to one of my favourit places in Dublin to eat, The Market Bar  it does amazing Tapas.
Its perfect for a night out with the girls, few drinks amazing food and a good gossip.

We went for Meatballs with Patatas Bravas and of course Nachos.

Last Sunday I done the cooking the fear of doing the Sunday dinner, I  decided to stay away from even trying to do a roast dinner the stress. So I decided  to try a receipe I came across on facebook for pulled pork  this was so easy to make, if i can do it anyone can and the sauce was good I did buy a BBQ sauce just in case but we didn’t need it.

I also done the dessert which was just strawberries, icecream, cream and broken meringue, its one of my favourite desserts and so simple to make.

Bits and Bobs I picked up are of course are from Penneys/Primark.

First item is a Rose Gold jewellery organiser which is perfect for my dressing table and its €7.

Another dressing table item which I was on the look out for a while now and was planning on buying one on ebay is a cotton wool holder and this was €2.50 and is so handy.

My Life

It’s been 18 days since I done a blog post which is shocking and I don’t know what happened.
I think I just got lazy.

Well there has been loads of shopping, went on holidays, eating and tears too.

Lets start with shopping I have loads and loads to show you and plan on getting everything up this week, there is an amazing dress from New look, trousers from riverisland and of course Penneys/ Primark

I went to Portugal last week for a week and had a lovely relaxing holiday, I would go back to Portugal but not Albufeira as I didn’t really like it there.

Also it was very cold at night so I did go shopping on day two for a jacket, I will also being showing you everything I picked up and there will be a big Zara haul .

The food there was amazing like I said i loved Portugal and mainly stuck to the old town and found an amazing little bar that sold the best cocktails and it wasn’t tacky either.

The night before I came home from Portugal my fur baby passed away, I didn’t find out till I landed on Thursday.
My fur baby was called Buffy and was 13 she was a rescue dog and one was one of the sweetest, kindest dogs I have ever come across. I really feel like my heart is broken and anyone who isn’t a dog lover will think I am mad. I know

Hope everyone had a good weekend

My life update

I was meant to do this once a week, of course life got in the way. I haven’t written one of these since February .

So expect loads of pictures and I’ll try and keep it short and sweet.

This week has been a busy week it was my nephews confirmation and I was his sponcer which is a big deal. I was up early and got my hair done.

I decided to wear culotte baby blue suit I picked up in river island last year.

After the church we all headed to the Harvest pub in Balbrigan for a meal. I decided to go for chicken wings for starters and steak for main and it was all yum.

My friend had a beautiful baby boy two weeks ago, she hadn’t been well so I had to wait to meet the new baby which meant baby clothes shopping so I headed to Next.

Yesterday I went shopping for a swimsuit for my holiday I booked a few weeks ago to Algrave in May.

Last few weeks,  quick update loads of shopping.

Fun days out looking at war ships, coffee and drinks

New make up review to come very soon

 I’m also on snap chat

Have a great Sunday

The Boat Restaurant and Bar

Few weeks ago I went for a meal on MV Cill Airne its restaurant and bar on a boat that doesn’t sail. It’s based on famous river liffey on the north side.  I have been a few times to this restaurant and really love and it’s something a little different staff are all very friendly and food is good.

We decided to eat in the restaurant as also do bar food and we went for the Pre Theatre Menu which is a choice of two course meal for €23 or three course for €27. I decided to go for the two course meal.

For main I went for the Steak now there is a €6 Supplement but it was worth it, it was served with mash potatoes, mushrooms and pepper sauce. The Steak was cooked to perfection and Mash was lovely.

For dessert I went for the Tart which was only ok but the other desserts wore lovely I did bully my brother into swapping his cheese cake for mine and it was amazing.

What I love about this restaurant is the size its very intimate but at the same time you’re not on top of each other.

If your in Dublin and are looking for somewhere to eat try MV Cill Airne

Knightsbrook Hotel and Spa Review

Last week I turned dirty 30 as I am now calling it, I took a week of work to celebrate and on the Tuesday my sister booked us all into Knightsbrook hotel for the night to celebrate in style.

When we arrived we wore greeted by the receptionist who informed us are room was ready early as we had our massage booked in for 2 o’clock and what a room it was, it was beautiful perfect for all three of us.

When we arrived into the room a bottle of Prosecco on ice strawberries dipped in chocolate where waiting for me and a box of cholates and card wishing me happy birthday from all the staff which of course wore all extras my sister added which made the day so special.

After having a good look around the room and taking are swim wear out of our case we went down to the spa and wore again greeted by one of the spa therapist and showing into a beautiful changing area and shown were are lockers wore with robes and slippers. We got changed and sat out on the sofa wore we wore each introduced to our therapist and taken into separate rooms.

I have to say treatment room was so calming and the massage its self was amazing I felt so relaxed afterwards and at the end I loved that they put hot towel on my back it really was amazing.

After the massage my therapist suggested I drink loads of water and I went into the relaxation room where there are beds and a choice of herbal teas, water and juices it was a perfect ending but it didn’t end there.

We went back into the changing area and put on our swimwear and went down stairs to the Thermal Spa where they have special designed cabins which have Laconium, Salt Grotto, Herbal Sauna, Steam room which are all very relaxing and very hot and they also have two Experience Showers which you pick your setting to help cool you down.

After we wore finished we got changed and decided to have a coffee and scones in the bar area which again is very pretty the scones came with cream and jam and wore so nice.

Than before we knew it, it was time to get changed for dinner in the Rocco Restaurant.

The food was perfect and I forgot to take a picture of my starter which was pork for the main, I want with steak and its was cooked perfect and the vegetables wore amazing and for dessert we ordered a cheese board and ice cream sundae and they also dropped out a birhday treat for me, now if I was to go again I would eat in the bar as the restaurant is very bright and if I’m honest let the hotel down it reminded me of a buffet restaurant which makes sense the next morning.

The next morning we went down for breakfast and the Rocco Restaurant was turned into a buffet breakfast area and it was horrible the hot food was all lying around since early and it looked it, which was a shame I have to say I would skip the breakfast maybe head into trim town and find something much nicer.

We didn’t make it to the pool area but I have heard it is all lovely even though I didn’t like the breakfast I will be heading back to Knightbook and have already booked another spa day.
