I have been using this night moisturizer priced at €54 for a while now and I have to say it lasted a long time a little goes a long way with this product when I picked it up skin was very dehydrated and flaky began using it at night with in a couple of days I began to notice the difference in my skin.

What it promises to do
No matter how well you protect your skin, sun, stress and pollution bring daily damage. Now a moisturiser delivers a unique complex of eight rapid and delayed-release antioxidants to defuse this free-radical activity. Helps keep skin looking strong and prevent visible signs of ageing.

My Opinion
The office I work in I am right beside the window so I feel my skin getting dehydrated as the day goes on or even the heat the office drying my skin out so I enjoy using this cream in the evening. It absorbs quickly into my skin so my skin is never sticky when going to sleep as this would annoy me nothing as bad as your face sticking to your pillow and I feel my skin is hydrated straight away and it never clogs my pores which is something that is important to me.  The next day my skin feels so soft and flaky skin is in my past it’s something I never have to worry about but the smell is only ok but that’s not something I care about.

I have just run out of this product I have decided to try something new but I know I will re purchase this night moisturizer again.

PS Love this Facial Cleanse and Massage Brush Review

I know their are loads of electric brush cleansers on the market but if don’t have the money I think this facial cleanse brush from Primark/Penneys priced at €1.50 is a great alternative.

I have been using a cleansing brush for about two years now I picked my last one up in Sephora when I was in America and it was priced at $16 click here to buy but it  had a horrible accident my four year old nephew took a scissors to it, I have say I was very up-set when this happened and their is sadly no Sephora in Ireland.

That same week I was in Penneys and spotted one that looked just like it except the price tag €1.50 instead of $16 I was delighted again for this price its amazing the packaging is perfect it comes with a lid for the bristle part of the brush and the other side has like silicone message pad.

IMG_4785 IMG_4784

I have dry skin just around my chin area and I also would get black heads to easily for my liking if i didn’t look after my skin.  I use the bristle part of the brush twice a week on my skin I feel it would be to much on my skin to use everyday. I wet my skin first than the brush and put on a facial wash directly on to the brush and start massaging it in circular motions on to my face now because the brush is new it is a little hard but over time it softens which to me feels nicer, I than turn the brush around around and use silicone side which gives your face a nice massage and than rinse off your face don’t forget to give the brush a good rinse.

This brush leaves your your skin glowing and feeling refreshed and removes all them horrible dead skin which ruins your make up, I like using this brush before a face mask its perfect Sunday pamper treat and for €1.50 you really can’t go wrong.

No 7 Cleanser and Toner Review

I have been using No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion for Normal/ Dry Skin priced 200ml at €11.75 and No 7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner 200ml priced at €10.50 for over a year now I always buy when it’s on 3 for 2 in boots I would pick up two cleansers and one toner as the toner always lasts me a lot longer than the Cleanser.

No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion for Normal/ Dry Skin
Let’s start with the packaging and price which is always the first thing I notice ok for €11.75 the packaging could be a little better but haven’t said that it didn’t stop me from buying this product but I think that is because No7 has a good reputation and it’s also a good sized product.

What it promises to do
Skin that suffers with some dryness will love No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion. The lightweight formula is enriched with rosehip oil to hydrate just where it’s needed and leave skin refreshed and perfectly clean.

What I think
this cleanser is gentle on my skin and leaves it feeling hydrated and soft it never feels dry which is something that happens to my skin on other cleansers. I do have to cleanse my face twice in the evenings to remove all make up during the week I would not wear heavy makeup but still would have to cleanse twice I find I would have to do that on most cleansers I do get blackheads and for the last three weeks I have been trying Garnier cleansing water and noticed just this weekend that I had a few more blackheads which I have now cleared and I started back using No 7 range.

No 7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner

Again the packaging could be a little better but again it’s not something I have to buy every month as the toner lasts me a while.

What it promises to do

No7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner for Normal/Dry Skin refreshes, comforts and hydrates. No7 Toners are non-drying and pH balanced to work in harmony with your skin to leave your face clean, toned and supple.

What I think

Do I love this toner no I thinks its ok but it does get any trace of makeup left behind off my skin which to me is the most important part now one thing if you have never used this before I suggested asking for a tester first as my Mam can’t use it on her skin as it tingles her skin I am fine this product and have never had any issue I think I just pick it up with the cleanser out of habit as I love the cleanser it does leave my skin feeling fresh afterword’s.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II Review

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II is one the more expensive products I swear by priced at £61.10 /€74.10 for 50ml.

I really believe any woman over the age of 25 should be using this product now I could lie and pretend I use it every night I don’t as sometimes I just take off my makeup and hop into bed but I always notice the difference in the morning when I do use it.

What it says it does
Wake up to more beautiful looking skin, every day. Address the look of all key signs of ageing with exclusive ChronoluxCB™ Technology to help skin’s natural nightly renewal. Proven in consumer testing: Lines and wrinkles appear significantly reduced. Skin feels smoother, hydrated, stronger. Looks younger, radiant, more translucent and even toned. Proven effective for all ethnicities

When I do use the product I would cleanse and tone first than put the Estee Lauder Advanced Night repair on and then Clinique Super rescue Antioxidant Night Dry Skins (which I plan on doing a review on soon) and I always make sure to include my neck.
This bottle comes with dispensing pipette which I love and you really only need about three drops so it does last a long time.
There is no strong smell from the serum which I like and it rubs straight into my skin my skin can be slightly dry and can be sensitive also which I have had no issues with sensitivity with this serum.
The first thing I notice every night when using this is my skin feels  hydrated  straight away the next morning my skin always looks brighter and more nourished it just looks and feels more healthier I really believe this serum is a worthwhile investment for your skin I don’t have to many lines thank god but I am 29 so it is something I do worry about and check in the mirror most evenings I do feel this product has helped with this as I am a very smiley person which to me is a good thing but for smile lines on your face it is not I have been using this product for about three years and I  really feel it has helped with this also when I first used this product I had a few sun spots as i have used sunbeds when i was a lot younger and they have disappeared over time

My Tips for Oil Control and Anti-Aging Skincare for Sensitive Skin

We all have different skin types, but then there are others who have different types of skin throughout any given season of the year. If you’re like that, chances are you and I could probably meet over a coffee and discuss the woes of having sensitive skin. Right now with the weather in a pendulum state, we’re just a little stuck with what to expect. Oh well!

So, lately I’ve been experimenting with different things, some natural and some commercial essential skincare products, for keeping your skin in line, no matter the weather.

Let me know if any of these are helpful…

Oil Control for Sensitive Skin

Oily skin care is a must on those days when it’s just too humid and sticky. If you’re not careful, you might shine just a little too brightly when you walk out the door to that important meeting you had planned out. Yep, an oily composition will do that for you. So here’s what I’ve been using to fix that…

Oily skincare products are a real ‘go’ during the summer. I’d suggest you go for the ones that are as natural as possible. For example, La Roche Posay has some pretty good oily skincare products which are a life saver when the heat turns up. The La Roche Posay Effaclar MAT+ works wonders to neutralise shine and give you a matte finish that lasts the entire day. And then there are their Purifying Foaming Gels which cut the grease and are completely soap free–a total deal for sensitive skin.

Then there is the more natural route with lemons. Give your face a scrub down with half a lemon at least twice a day, once when you wake up, and once before you go to bed. Aside from cutting the grease and working wonders to give you a matte look the entire day, lemons are natural, and probably the best form of oil-control. It also lightens your skin, fades scars, and helps you get a more even complexion.

I’m pretty frugal in my dealings with lemons, though. It doesn’t do to waste an entire lemon smack on your face. Lemons also help you to lose weight. Hence, I start the day off with a glass of warm water, lemon, and honey. And the juiced peels I turn inside out and wipe around my face. (Careful for the eyes, though. It stings like something else.) Let it stay there for a couple minutes and then rinse it off. No need to use any face wash after that.

Anti-Ageing Care for Sensitive Skin

Anti-ageing skincare is, as I’m finding, not really about turning 30 and then deciding that it’s time to make a sudden switch to anti-ageing products and wrinkle-free creams. It is instead about keeping up with good skin care habits on a daily basis. And that mostly applies to eye care.

Most of us just aren’t brave enough to greet the world without at least a little cover-up and a little eye shadow. And on some days a good lip gloss ;-). I know I’m not. But, applying makeup, and then having to wipe it off, tends to make the skin around the eyes look tired, stretched, and show wrinkles early.

I learned a good tip from a fellow makeup artist for removing makeup without damaging your skin. Olive oil! Put a little olive oil on your palms and then apply it to your entire face, massaging off the makeup. Then take a wet wipe or a bit of soft tissue and gently wipe the coloured oil away. You can then use a gentle, non-soap based, face wash to remove the rest of the oil. It’s as simple as that!

Another tip I’ve learned with olive oil for anti-aging is to apply a little around the contours of your eyes just before bed. It works wonders for returning lost moisture to your skin and fading away dark circles and bags. Olive oil as an anti-aging tool isn’t something everyone knows about or gives much credit to, but I can say for one that it’s worked wonders on my skin. And, another benefit is that it doesn’t make your skin overly greasy. It just absorbs into the skin and heals it.

If you do need a little extra boost from commercial anti-aging products, I’d suggest you go for ones like Dermaoil for skin repair. Dermaoil works for skin repairs like scars, stretch marks, or extremely dry skin. But I’d suggest you use this one as a night balm, if you have oily skin. That way, you give it time to soak into your skin while you sleep, without it making your skin look overly greasy during the day.

In closing…
No matter what skin type you have, life is a party and you should enjoy it. Taking care of your body is a must, because it will serve you better for longer. Or as one friend put it: Your body is like a house, if you don’t take care of it, you’ll have to leave it early. Makes sense. Doesn’t it?! But at the same time, don’t get too worried about what you look like or take too time in front of the mirror, when there is a whole wide world to explore.

Do what you can to take care of your body, and then trust that the results will follow.
