Afternoon Tea in The Westin

On Saturday I went for afternoon tea, in The Westin in Dublin, I had really been looking forward to this as I heard it was amazing, and I really wasn’t disapointed.

Afternoon tea is served in The Atrium Lounge which is so pretty and such a relaxing hide away in the centre of Dublin.

There are two afternoon teas to choose from the Normal Afternoon tea priced at €32 or A Most Peculair Afternoon tea prcied at €34,  which comes with a cocktail in a teapot. I decided to go for the normal afternoon tea.

The normal afternoon tea arrived out and it looked amazing this is between two people.

The bottom layer of course was sandwiches we asked for no fish, which was no issue at all and the sandwiches wore lovely roast beef with tomato and Horseradish , Cucumber with dill cream cheese and egg and rocket cress.

Next layer was a mini scone which of course came with cream and jam and also a Carrot Cake.

Now for the mini cakes which wore all yum

I’ve gone to a few hotels in Dublin for Afternoon tea,  the Westin was by far the best, the food was amazing,  the staff wore all so friendly.  What I loved most was no one was sitting on top of each other.

When afternoon tea was over, we went down stairs to the Mint bar to have a cocktail, these are expensive, mine was €12.50 but it was a big cocktail and it was delish.

My Week

My week should really be changed the last two weeks, as last week I really didn’t get up to that much as I wasn’t feeling myself.

I still picked up a few bits in penneys. a make up bag which i think is €8, I could be wrong. It even has a place to hold your make-up brushes.

I also decided to pick up Penneys/Primark new make up range PS Pro. I went for a lipliner, lip primer and lipstick so far not loving it. I have only worn it once and it wasn’t great I’m not sure if it was the primer or the lipstick it was blotchy. I am gonna try it again and do a proper review.

I also picked up a gold card holder in Dunnes Store for €5,
I spotted this on Dreaming in Sequins snap chat she is an Irish blogger and is one of my favourites and she is so nice.

This Friday I went out for after work cocktails to the Vintage cocktail club, I love this club you have to prebook and also the front door is hidden away in Temple bar and the cockatils are amazing.

On Saturday I got my hair cut in the Curly Look its a hair dressers in Glasnevin that is all about curl care and i was told to wear my hair curly which a hair dresser has never asked me to do before, I am going to do a full and honest review.

FK Buckley Temple Bar and Vintage Cocktail Club

On Thursday night i went out for dinner for my friends 30th Birthday I decided to book FX Buckley in Temple Bar as I heard they do the best steak in Dublin.

We went for the early bird menu which is two course’s for €19.95 or three course for €23.95 we both went for the ceaser salad to start which I have to say was nice it wasn’t the nicest ceaser salad I ever had but it was nice and a good size portion. Up next we both went for the same thing again Steak we went for rump steak now if you are ordering of the main menu they come out with a platter of beef and you can pick what steak you want to eat.

I have to say the steak was perfect it tasted amazing I went for a mash side which was also very tasty we also had a glass of wine each and a coffee and it came to €61.

One thing I notice alot when eatting out in Dublin and it really anoys me if one of the guest is away from the table and the food is ready, this happend with the ceaser salad they still bring the food to the table to me they should wait till everyone is at the table before sevring also if you like meal to last a while between courses do not go here everything is very quick a bit to quick for my liking  it would of been nice to have a few more mintues between starter and dinner but haven’t said that I would go back for the steak.

After dinner we went around the corner to Vintage Cocktail Bar you have to book Vintage Cocktail Bar before you go, as it is a secret cocktail club from the outside you really would never know the door only has VCC on it and is locked so you have to ring the bell as we booked very late the only tables left wore for the terrace which I was happy with as it was a lovely evening . It is a vintage cocktail bar so it is very vintage feel inside which i loved we wore shown to our table and handed a book of cocktails which was so hard to choose from .

For my First Cocktail I decided to go for the Daily mule, The receipe changes daily depending on the mood of the bar tender but it Usually contains Absolut 100 Premium Vodka, fresh citrus, fruit liqueur, ginger beer or soda, with fresh fruit and a fresh mint sprig and it was delish my friend went for Tiki Peekey which contains  Absolut Grapefruit Vodka, VCC Pomegranate Tincture, cranberry and pineapple, fresh citrus, VCC 3 Sugar Syrup, soda top, with a fresh mint sprig and fresh pomegranate which of course I had a little sip of and it was nice.

For are secound cocktail  I went for Shut ver mouth Plymouth Gin, VCC Sweet Vermouth, Green Chartreuse, with lemon oils I wasnt a lover of this one it was abit to strong for my taste buds so I ended up swapping with my friend not sure what she ordered.

For the third cocktail I was very boring and ordered the Daily mule again  I know but it was so nice and my friend went for a different cocktail which tasted like choclote again not something I would be a fan off.

Most people wore only staying for one drink as it is very expensice 6 drinks cost us €71 but it was 30th Birthday treat but I have to say I loved it and it really finished off our night so if you are looking for something a bit different to do in Dublin, Vintage Cocktail Club is perfect night.

Barcelona and Sitges Review

Well I have been home since Tuesday but I have been so lazy and kept meaning to do a review on my holiday but just kept putting to off.

Last Friday we flew into Barcelona for a wedding in Sitges we decided to spent our first night in Barcelona and stayed in a hotel in  La Rambla sorry I cannot remember the name of the hotel it was an ok hotel clean but small and it had free wifi I woundnt stay there again we arrived so early are room wasn’t ready so we left are bags and went sightseeing we ended up in a lovely food market and had a quick look around.image

We decided to do a sight seeing bus we decided to go on the red line which cost €27 I would not recommend this to anyone they just seemed to want you to shop and we really didn’t want to shop which is a first for me we stayed on the bus till we got to the Sagrada Famila church and there was thirty minute queue and general admission is €14.80 this church which is still being built outside is one of the most craziest church I have ever seen and it’s well worth a look.imageimageimageimageimage

After the church we went for ice cream in the shop just across from the church it was amazing and we got back on our bus and went back to the hotel and finally checked in and had a sleep we wore all exhausted and than we got ready for dinner and dancing again I didn’t get the name of the restaurant but we got a taxi to the port and went for tapas it was cold and horrible we wore all still hungry and than we went back to La Rambla and went for cocktails and than to a club.

I didn’t like Barcelona I didn’t feel safe I have done Thailand, Cambodia, Sydney, America and a good bit of Europe so I have traveled but everyone kept telling us to watch our bags our hotel going into the club people I told I was going and even that night walking home men kept pulling up in there cars and stopping I just didn’t feel safe.

The next day we made are way to Sitges by train which cost us €3 it took us a about thirty minutes by train to get there and we got a taxi to our hotel which was called hotel Sitges the hotel is boutique hotel located in a residential neighbourhood  five minute walk from beautiful beach and 10 minute walk to nightlife as soon as we arrived I felt like we wore on holidays.image

Our room was perfect size the bed is big and comfy and as there was three of us they put in a fold up bed and we had a lovely balcony which I loved doing my make up on the shower was amazing I could of lived in it but there was only one mirror and that was in the bathroom so with three girls getting ready it was a bit annoying.imageimageimageimage

Sitges is a gay friendly resort so I was thinking it was going to be mad but it was full of Spanish families on holidays and there is one strip which was good fun we went to parrot bar and had amazing cocktails which are priced at €7.50 and they wore very strong but we loved it and had a great first night in Sitges.image

Sunday was the day of the wedding and we meet for the bus at four and it wasn’t to hot that day it was just perfect the wedding was held in Casa Felix this house is amazing it was like something from the hills the wedding was amazing the ceremony held in the garden was stunning the wedding planner who is Irish was amazing when the ceremony was over we wore served tapas and there was a Spanish dancer and band playing in the court yard it and than we wore taken into the pool were everything was set up for dinner we had a lovely hazelnut, pineapple, mango, goat cheese salad to start fillet steak for dinner and dessert table it was perfect.image

imageThan it was time to party free bar all night serving amazing strawberry mojitos and an amazing band playing soul music and the lead singer Sinead savage happened to be Irish and after that a DJ it was an amazing night it beautiful venue.image

On Monday we went back to Casa Felix for a BBQ and wore given a tour of the house by the bride and the house is amazing well worth a google it is stunning house I would love to live thereimageimage

imagethe BBQ again was a lovely day so relaxing everyone was either in the pool or lying around and that night we had the guitars out and wore singing around the pool

later that night we ended up in parrots bar having more cocktails.imageimage

Tuesday was our last day and we finally made it to the old part of the town which is so pretty there is an old church and cannons it’s just a beautiful town and of course the day we wore leaving was the first day of the strikes in France thanks god are plane was only delayed by 2 hours.image

I had an amazing holiday and would recommend Sitges for a holiday it is a lovely town there is no mcdonalds, KFC or Burger Kings it is a relaxing holiday with amazing beaches and friendly people.
