My Christmas

I hope everyone had a Happy Christmas. Christmas is all about traditions, in my house you always got one present Christmas Eve and of course Christmas Eve pyjamas.

This year I went for the grinch pyjamas and I just love my Christmas Eve box

It alway has things for a relaxing Christmas Eve, face mask, nail polish, shower gel, grinch sock and my favourite jelly’s.

Christmas Day, I have to say I was spoiled rotten this year, with all my favourites.

On Christmas Day, I wore my Warehouse sale outfit. That just arrived on Christmas Eve and I love a co-ordinate.

On Christmas night, I always have new pyjama. I’m a little bit obsessed, with pyjamas.

St Stephen’s day, is always a fun day. It’s is nearly like a second Christmas Day, as we alway have another big turkey dinner.

I wore a suit, I picked up in Penney’s/Primark, a few months ago. This suit had to be taken up the joys of been 5’1. I also picked up a white knit jumper also from Penney’s/primark.

I did pick up a few bits in the sales and I cannot wait to show you, it’s abit annoying as it all has to be taken up first.

Happy shopping

Birthday Outfit

Last weekend was my Birthday and of course I went out for dinner with the girls, which of course means a new outfit.

Well kind of new outfit, I got this jumpsuit in the sale in River island all the way back in August and as soon as i got it, I was like thats my birthday outfit sorted.

This is a culotte jumpsuit but on me its just a jumpsuit, that fits me. Its also dark green but looks black in all the pictures.

Now you can see how short I am, as its nearly at the models knees.

We want for dinner in Tuscana in Temple bar the food was yum and the staff wore so friendly, I didn’t really take any pictures, which is not like me. I do have one picture of my main, which was steak.

I have to say, I was spoiled rotten on the Sunday and had a lovely day of just chilling in front of the TV. img_3759

Happy Friday,

Afternoon tea at clontarf castle

Last week I met the girls for afternoon tea in clontarf castle.

The afternoon tea is held in the reception area, now  you don’t feel like you are on top of each other but you it very busy with people checking in and out thich in the winter you would be very cold with that door opening.

Our waitress went though each tea with us and explained there afternoon tea is a little different. It comes in two sections the bakery and than the cake shop. I was a little boring and stuck with coffee.

The bakery came first with a selection of Sandwiches, now these wore not normal sandwiches each one was not just different but on different breads. My favourite was the the sirloin grilled and served on ciabatta with sticky onion jam.

It’s hard to believe after that you have any room left but when you see the cake shop you just about manage to find a second wind.

Again it was all very tasty the scones were perfect but my favourite was the shortbread with cream and strawberries.

Our waitress, was so friendly and checked if we had enough tea and coffee. We also all left with a little doggy bag for later. I have to say this is a perfect for a girls day out or even a romantic treat with your other half.

Afternoon tea is priced at €36.95 Click here for more details.

My Month

Can’t belive it’s August already another month gone.

July has been a fun month loads of food way too much and shopping of course.

I’ve also started baking again, its been going well but not helping with my diet at all that starts on Monday and last’s about an hour.

I’m also loving everything disney at the moment in Penney’s, I am way to old for it still can’t stop buying pyjamas and of course the famous chip cup.

Last month has also been all about Love Island. My friend and I watched the final together and had a little party with way to much food and of course matching t-shirts.

As always I want a little OTT on stationery, a new Dealz opened in Clarehall so I couldn’t say no and priced at €1.50 each it would be rude not too.

Last but no least I got my hat for Ladies day at the Horse Show next week in the RDS and my dress can’t wait to show you all.

Happy August

My month

I can’t believe it’s June already May just flew by.

I am meant to do a weekly what have I been up to but my life really isn’t that interesting lol, so instead I am trying to do monthly update.

I went to an Italian restaurant which of course I can’t remember the name, story of my life but the food was yum.

I also went to see George Ezra in the Olympia which is an amazing venue, I have to say it was an amazing gig, he has an amazing voice and he really didn’t need the band.

Before the gig we went for cocktails in the Porterhouse in Templebar and they wore amazing.
The only thing was the gig was on a Monday night, so I was dying in work the next day.

The weather in May, was good and I have been walking the dog most evenings. I have been heading to Father Collins park in Donaghmede, its such a nice park and the Scrappy loves looking at the ducks

Here’s to a fun and happy June.

I always have this vivid memory as a child of going to my first concert, I was ten years of age and my sister brought me to see boyzone in the point (3arena).

The counting down the days telling everyone in school and deciding what to wear, which of course was my Boyzone t-shit.

The day of the concert we got the train into town the whole family wore excited for me. My sister had a few surprises to make it even more special, Instead of walking to the point we got a boat down,

I remember been shocked and little nervous by all the people when we got to our seats, I was so small I could hardly see anything as everyone was taller than me.

Now you have to remember this was 21yrs ago so health and safety wasn’t as big an issue, so are seats wore right at the stairs so my sister got me to stand on the stairs how I could see the gig, security did come over but my sister explained I couldn’t see and it was my first concert so they let me stay there for the night.

The concert lived up to everything and more, I remember everyone stamping there feet and feeling the vibrations on the floor and being so a excited when my sister got me a program and just thinking this was the most amazing night ever.

After the concert we got back on the boat and my sister took me to Eddie rockets it was my first time eating there it was even more exciting being in town so late.

Thinking back on this memory today brought tears to my eyes, thinking that children lost there lives going to there first concert instead of it being a happy evening it was a nightmare.

My parents waited up to hear all about my first concert, last night parents stayed up because they couldn’t find there children and prayed they wore still alive.

Like most people yesterday’s attack shocked and sickened me as children wore targeted. I have to wonder what kind of world we live in, I hope and prey this never happens again.

I know this is very different from my normal posts but yesterday we lost so much innocence in one night, I felt like it was only fitting.

My Week

My week has turned into my last two weeks as always I seem to get a little lazy.
The first week was all about food, all I seemed to be doing was eating.

Monday I met with a friend for lunch. We went to the church bar I had the pulled beef brisket sandwich with fries, it as nice but messy.

Than that evening I decided to call into off beat donuts on Georges Quay  and got two donuts, carmel toffee ring and a white coffee donut. They wore both nice but I did prefer the coffee one more.

This weeks nails wore No 7 gel finish, I got this in the No7 set I got for Christmas. I am very impressed with this nail polish it didn’t chip and had a nice finish.

The 52 book challanage is still going strong last week was book 4 of 52. Finally a book I really enjoyed, The Associate by John Grisham again I picked this up in a charity shop for €3. The main charcater is Kyle McAvoy he is legal student one of the top legal student’s in the country and is blackmailed into taken a job most law students would dream of doing except this was not Kyle’s dream. I didn’t want to like Kyle at the start but he was one of the good guy’s, Also the ending I just wanted more, I wanted to know what happened with his life.

On Sunday I cooked first ever roast dinner, and it was nice and I managed not to burn the house down.

The secound week, I didn’t really get up to much mid week, but my new skin care products arrived from The Ordinary.
I am going to do a quick post hopefully this week and than a real review in about months time to let you know how I am getting on.

Saturday was all about hair and make-up as I was heading out. I wore my new dress from Penneys, which was abit to low cut for my liking, I felt it was a little to much so next time I will be putting a black cami top under it.

The night didn’t go very well as I got very ill it was’t the drink, as I didn’t even get to finish my first drink and had to leave but I did feel fab before I was ill.

My Week

The last two weeks haven’t been that exciting at all mainly as like most people I am broke. The joys of being paid monthly and having a shopping addiction, this year I will save, I think I will be writing this every week to just remind myself the importance of saving how next January will not be like this and I have already started. I have been doing the 52 week saving challenge so week one I put €1 into a savings box week 2 €2, week 3 €3 and on week 52 well that’s if I last that long it will be €52, I know it will kill me doing this every week but I think that might be the handbag fund or even a holiday fund, something fun that will make me do this every year.

I have also been doing the 52 week book challenge so one book a week for the year, I love reading but last year I didn’t read as much as I would of liked so this year its’s going to change,

Week One Cross the Line by James Patterson
This book is from the Alex Cross serous. The book begins with a murder on a quiet road of course this is just the beginning, than District Chief of Detectives and his girlfriend are murdered in the middle of the day, Alex Cross is on the case.  The book takes a few turns but it just wasn’t that great I normally love James Patterson books but I was abit bored halfway into it. It all came together a bit too nicely like the ending was rushed and just abit boring.

Week Two Night School by Lee Child
This book is from another serious the Jack Reacher books. I love Jack Reacher serious and hate the films who ever decided to cast Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher needs there head checked and also needs to read the books. This book takes you back 20 years ago and is set in the mid-90s when Reacher is still in the army he has been sent back to school but of course that is only what they want the outside world to think in fact he is on a joint mission with FBI, CIA and the national Security Council to stop a terrorist attack .This book again was not up to Childs normal standard it was good but I could put it down and to me that’s the most important thing about a book.

Week three Edge by Jeffery Deaver
This is an old book which I picked up in the local charity shop for €3, you really can’t go wrong. The main character is this book is an agent called Corte who works in a secret organisation that protects people who have deadly secrets, some of these people are not even aware of the knowledge they know. Henry Loving is the bad guy of this book and the person after the knowledge and someone you do not want questioning you. This book is a cat and mouse game between the pair. There are some surprising turns in this book but at times it is abit to detailed.

Last week I decided to use a voucher I got for Christmas to buy myself a new watch, I knew what I wanted before I went into the shop but the watch I wanted did not suit me at all, it was to chunky for my arm. I than spotted the Rosefield watch in rose gold with a black strap and I can also change straps which is always handy. The watch is €89 and a new strap is €35 which isn’t too bad I already have my eye on the grey leather strap.

I also had another voucher that I won on Facebook for my favourite burger place, Bobo’s burgers. It’s one of the nicest places to get a decent burger in Dublin everything is made fresh and the staff are all so friendly, its always busy which is a good sign. It’s not like most fast food places as you are shown to your seat and handed a menu and they take your order there is no queuing which I love.

My week

The first week of 2017 is already over, it wasn’t a bad week getting back into work was hard but not too bad maybe because I started back on the Tuesday and only had four days, which helped.

This year I am trying to blog more as I feel I’ve lost the love of it just a little, I have been thinking why I started it in the first place, it was because I wanted an escape route as I was in a very unhappy place. I hated my job and I was being treated horrible by a manager and it was killing me each day so I started blogging as a way to escape at times.
Thankfully I decided to get myself away from that situation and I’ve become a happier and healthier person for it. It’s amazing how a bully can have such a horrible effect on your life even as an adult.

Over the last week I have been thinking what I want out of 2017 and I want to be happy which I am at the moment, healthy somewhat at the moment and have savings which I use to have, Since  I started working in town (I am around the corner from Penney’s) I can’t seem to save at all.
This year is going to be about saving and trying to cut down on how much I spend in Penney’s and shopping in general.

Last week I did thing’s for myself that I enjoyed doing and took time for myself instead of sitting in front of the T.V.
January is a depressing month so I spent Wednesday evening pampering myself having a bath, face mask, eye mask which came in a hamper, my Mam got me for Christmas. I also got a white fluffy dressing gown and white slippers to make it feel like a proper pamper session.

On Friday evening I finally used the new pyjamas I picked up in Penney’s/Primark last year but left them in work over the Christmas so finally got to use them, there is just something about new pyjamas that always makes me happy.

The weekend was very lazy weekend mainly because I have no money so Sunday we brought the dog to Dollymount beach to go for a walk.
We got a new dog three months ago I really believed after are last dog died we would not be getting a new but after 5 months we realised the house didn’t feel the same. I was thinking of buying a dog as I would love a Basset hound or a French bull dog but we have always rescued dogs after really thinking about it I knew I couldn’t purchase a dog. Our search for a dog began now of course I wanted a puppy and I also wanted a female dog as I have never owned a male dog before. So of course I didn’t get a puppy I got a two year old boy dog, which has worked out perfect he has fit right in and has a great personality and loves a cuddle.

Cassmadabout life

I decided to change the name instead of my normal old week update lol.

Last Friday I went to one of my favourit places in Dublin to eat, The Market Bar  it does amazing Tapas.
Its perfect for a night out with the girls, few drinks amazing food and a good gossip.

We went for Meatballs with Patatas Bravas and of course Nachos.

Last Sunday I done the cooking the fear of doing the Sunday dinner, I  decided to stay away from even trying to do a roast dinner the stress. So I decided  to try a receipe I came across on facebook for pulled pork  this was so easy to make, if i can do it anyone can and the sauce was good I did buy a BBQ sauce just in case but we didn’t need it.

I also done the dessert which was just strawberries, icecream, cream and broken meringue, its one of my favourite desserts and so simple to make.

Bits and Bobs I picked up are of course are from Penneys/Primark.

First item is a Rose Gold jewellery organiser which is perfect for my dressing table and its €7.

Another dressing table item which I was on the look out for a while now and was planning on buying one on ebay is a cotton wool holder and this was €2.50 and is so handy.
