Christmas Beauty Advent Calendar

I know it’s only September but last year I left it too late to get the beauty advent calendar that I wanted so this year I am organised and I am pre-ordering now.

I wanted this calendar for years but the first year it came out it didn’t deliver to Ireland but now it does and I pre-order it today.

Lookfantastic Advent Calendar, The advent calendar includes 9 full-sized products and 16 deluxe samples; 19 of which are exclusive to lookfantastic. They also like to keep things secret which I love, in 2016 they had pixie glow, moroccanoil and Redkin. It’s priced at €98 and products worth over £300 click here to pre-order it’s realise date of the 10th October.

Marks and Spencer’s Calendar, I have heard amazing things about this one, but you have to spend €35 in store and pay €35 for the calendar which isn’t too bad. It features REN, Eyeko, Percy and Reed, Nails Inc. and more it’s realise date is 9th November.

L’Occitane Advent Calendar this is also on my wish list its £49/€56 (i think) and it looks amazing. Realise date is 28th September but you can sign up here to be the first to know when its realised.

Sleek makeup advent calendar, I am a big fan of sleek make-up. I also think this is a good choice for a younger girl and its £35 not sure of the euro price just yet and will be available in Boots on the 18th September.

Feeling unique have a 12 day Calender and its priced at €42 and it has NYX, Elizabeth Arden and much more realise date 18th October but you can sign up now for the waiting list .

Again this is perfect for someone a little younger Make-up Revolution advent calendar and its £50 from superdrug click here to buy now .

I normally get the No7 Calendar but I’m a little bit bored with it so i’ll be giving it a miss this year the realise date is 25th October. Click here to £40/€45 thats only a guess. IMAGENAME-136420988588302601.jpg

Soap and Glory also a big fan of this and I think it would be great for younger girls to and its £40 /€45 thats only a guess in euros. It will be available in Boots on the 18th September.

Sulfate Free Shampoo and Conditioners

I have naturally curly hair just in case you didn’t know this.
Over the last seven month’s my hair has been sulfate free.

What are sulfates otherwise known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)  , don’t worry I hadn’t a clue either till I found out about the curly hair method and that Sulfate is not good for curly hair and even worse it’s in most Shampoos and Conditioners.
So Sulfate is basically the foaming agent that makes the suds in our shampoo and it is a surface-active agent which reduces the tension of water so this helps your shampoo loosen the grease and sebum from your hair and scalp which all sounds good to me but then when you think about it, it’s just a detergent for your hair and do I really to use a detergent in my hair.

shampoo-235x300

Sulfates does help clean your hair but they are also strip your hair of natural oils.
Which in curly hair you need those natural oils to hydrate your hair so sulfates are stripping your curls of the moisture they need.
Ladies who colour their hair and spend a fortune in the hairdressers like myself sulfate fades the colour of your hair.

The first difference when using a sulfate free shampoo is the suds, you do miss them and it takes a while to get use to no suds and you do wonder if you are really giving your hair a good wash but don’t worry you are.

I have no noticed a difference since going sulfate free my hair is curlier healthier and my colour lasts longer. My hairdresser has also noticed a difference she said it was less frizzy which is a big thing for me.

Read the labels of your shampoo and conditioner before using them and check if they have sulfate.

At the moment I am using Shea moisture Shampoo and Conditioner I picked these up in boots and they are €14.99 each so wait till they are on three for two. I am going to do a full review but at the moment I am not sure if I will re-purchase this one or try something new.

Creamy Candy Bubble Bar Review

I love baths and after a stressful day having a bath is the perfect day to relax.

On my way home from work after a very busy day I headed into lush, it really is one of my favourite shops and the staff are always so nice.

Now I knew I wanted a bubble bar as I love bubbles in my bath . I was drawn to this bright pink bubble bar with a pretty blue flower in the middle.

As I was running my bath that night I held the bubble bar under the tap and watched the water turn pink and of course the bubbles started

Than you get the sweet smell but not to over powering filling up the bathroom

This bubble bar is one my new favourites it was relaxing and I loved the bubbles, it was so relaxing and will be repurchasing.

Lots of love

Aurora Band Rate or Slate

I think everyone has seen Aurora band by now, I ordered mine after seeing it online and everyone’s hair just looked amazing after wearing it overnight so I had big hopes for this and it is priced at €13.99 and postage of €2 which isn’t even the price of one curly blow dry.

Face on pack and band shot 2

I have naturally curly hair so of course I blow dried my hair somewhat straight but still a little damp and also watched the video a few times on how to do it.
I began the process of splitting my hair in two section like pig tails at the back I started wrapping my hair around the band and it kind a sticks to the velcro and then I pulled it through and then added it to the next section till I reached the middle of the band and then started on the other side leaving a gap at the back between the two sides when I was finished. The process got easier as you do it and you would need to be sitting in front of a mirror the most important thing for this part is to leave the gap at the back.

That night I slept in it took me a while to get comfortable and the next morning I was very excited to take it out till I began doing it, it was a nightmare I even got the stress sweats. There was also a few tears from pulling the head of myself and worrying what damage I was doing. My hair looked horrible and frizzy not a curl in it.

I assumed it looked this way because I got stressed so a few weeks later I said I’ll give it a go again. The process of putting it in was so easy this time and taking it out was easier as well I didn’t get stressed and took my time, I was still pulling the head of myself. The Velcro just kept making my hair frizzy so maybe if you have perfect straight hair it may work, well at least I hope it might. My hair looked fizzy and not a curl I just looked like I woke up and didn’t brush my hair. After looking more into and speaking to a few people turns out I was lucky and didn’t have to cut it out, even my hair dresser told me a horror story.

I’m sorry to say I’m slating the Aurora Band.

I did take pictures but I delated them as I felt I shouldn’t write a bad review, as I read an interview with a blogger I use to follow saying if she doesn’t like a product she just doesn’t write about it. I decided to listen to this advice which was as silly of me as you should always do your own thing.

I was going to do it again to show everyone but I just couldn’t do it to my hair.

Lots of Love

PS Dark Circle Reducer

Thid is from PS beauty range from Penneys/Primark its priced at €1.50 and you get four disks in one packet so this means two uses which for this price its great value.

img_87271

You have the choice of leaving them on all night or for 30 minutes.

The first time I used them, I left them on all night. It was a little uncomfortable at the start but I did manage to fall asleep but one came off and the other disk had moved down my cheek. So next time I just used them with a face mask and left them on a bit longer.

The first thing you notice is the cooling effect and you can also pop them in the fridge for a few minutes if you feel  like your eyes need a bit extra TLC.

img_91101

Did I notice big differance, nope not really.I enjoyed using them my eyes felt refreshed and these would be perfect after a long week or with party season just kicking off these would be perfect before putting on your make-up.

Lets be honest for €1.50 you can’t go wrong.

Life update

I’ve become so lazy with my blog lately, as I am loving instagram and the stories. I never got into snapchat but I still do use it, I think because I seem to have a lot of men following me on their. Which is strange and I get a lot of message from them informing me I shop way to much lol.

So gonna also use my life update as my bits and bobs shopping that I haven’t shown you yet, this weeks bit and bobs, is PJ’s and Slippers. I picked up a few weeks ago from you guessed it Penneys/Primark. I’m just loving the rabbit ear slipper, I even picked up a secound pair.img_5968-1

I have been living in the bath latly after I paid a visit to lush, I just love bath bombs and they are so relaxing.

The first one I used was you’ve been mangoed bath oil, I have never used a bath oil from Lush before, first thing you notice is it is very small compared to the bath bombs and it smells amazing very citrus which maked me think of holidays. Now their is no bubbles with this one but the smell makes up for it, also left my skin feeling very soft only thing is it left the bath with a green making where the water was, I kinda thaught I was that dirty turned out it wasn’t me lol.

img_6208

Up next was Karma Bubble bar, I love bubbles so this was perfect again its citrus smell which I love and the glitter which I like. The day I used this Karma, I was wrecked and had the bath just before bed to help me relax and it worked a treat.

Next up is Sakura bath bomb  which is disapointing the smell isn’t that strong and didn’t change the bath water that much just to a pinkish colour so was very disapointed.

So last week in Ireland and again this week is a bus strike on Thursday and Friday, so I have been on the 6.15am train in the morning that explains my tiredness. On Friday I ended up going to work with no make up on, don’t worry it was still dark out and I done my make up when I arrived in so because I was so early I had loads of time to do it and take my time.

I’m loving No7 lipstick I’m going to do a proper review on it.

img_6358

Also I finally wore my new shirt from Penney/Primark and sleevless Camel jacket from River Island which I love and is perfect in this weather.

img_6361

On Sunday I headed out to Howth for a walk.

I ended up in the market, hich is held every weekend in Howth where I picked up these amaing mini cupcakes which are €1.70 each they wore yum

img_6378

Hope everyone had a great week

Lots of Love
